This has been a very fast first half of the quarter. The students and I have already learned and accomplished so much. Below you will find several upcoming events.
*Midquarters - Thursday, October 1st (These are to be signed and returned by Tuesday, October 7th please)
*Marathon Walk - Friday, October 3rd 12:45
*Beach Party - Bob and the Beachcombers Concert at the Island Ballroom - Sunday, October 5th
*2 Hour late start - Monday, October 6th
*MEA Break - October 16-17
*All-School Mass - Prepared by the 4th grade class
*All-Souls' Day/Last day of the 1st quarter - October 31st
*All-Saints Day - Holy Day of Obligation
Parents each week the junior high students are responsible to write down their assignments for each class. Please check to see what we are doing in our classes on a regular basis. Also they will have spelling words to study each week. The tests are on Friday. They must also read three library books each quarter and then test at 70% or better on those books. The average of the three test scores will be equal to one test grade in their English or Reading grade. I appreciate the encouragement that you give your son/daughter with their attitude and school work.
Congratulations on all the hard work the students are doing in the classroom and in the sports areas.
Keep bringing in those Marathon dollars. We want to enjoy the root beer floats not serve them to the 7th graders!
The 8th graders and I want to say a special 'Thank You' to Emily Jacobs for coming into our classroom and telling us about all that she saw and experienced on her trip to several countries in Europe.
