Wow, again the summer has flown by. I hope that it was filled with family, friends, and your church. I am so looking forward to the great year we will have! I treasure the opportunity to partner with you in the education of your student!
Your student is taking a big step in his/her education as a Middle School student. They will be asked to take more responsibility for themselves than in the past. Moving from class to class to more educators will require organization and a willingness to stay focused. We know that your student can do this. The first few weeks will require all of us to be supportive of the kids to help make it a smooth transition. Mistakes may happen but we hope to use them to help them grow into responsible individuals. There will be weekly spelling lessons and tests for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders along with the Language lessons. Because we are able to have English all year round there are numerous opportunities for developing writing skills. If you have any concerns please contact me. Ask your student how they are doing to complete their tasks frequently, throughout the quarter all year. Each assignment is very important. You will receive a midquarter grades and of course report cards at the end of each quarter. All of their graded assignments should come home as well as any communication we want to get to you. Please ask to see it.
Our Religion Curriculum includes planning for masses. If at all possible please join us to worship on Thursdays. The kids really like to see their parents at masses if at all possible. On our All-School Mass days we encourage the students to wear Spirit Wear or blue and gold clothing. We all are proud of our great school, "St. Mary's"!!!
Thank you for all your support and God bless you! We couldn’t do it without you!
The
eighth graders are our new leaders, spiritually, educationally, as well as
showing great citizenship. I challenge
them to lead the way in the Tim Orth Foundation/Renville
