Our 2025 Marathon is kicked off on Friday, Sept 26th. This is one of our BIGGEST fundraising events! Our students will be reaching out to their neighbors, local businesses, alumni and community for pledges.
Fr. Joe announced our school’s marathon goal is $55,000 this year!
Each student received a sheet to keep track of the pledges they have collected and they are encouraged to bring in pledge money daily. Those individuals who bring in $10 or more a day, will get their name in the daily drawing for a $10 Dairy Queen gift card! 🍦 Each student can earn up to 10 entries per day. The class bringing in the most amount each week will be recognized and will then have a little fun with their grade!! Each grade can an earn an EXTRA recess, pick your own dress up day, or even a water balloon fight!!
On October 15th, students will do service work in the community instead of walking for the Marathon. This is something that we implemented in 2018 and we have received positive feedback from our community and families about integrating service and putting our “Gratitude into Action”. This year we are reminded “We are Many: We are One.” As we come together in service to others, supporting our school with pledges, and with gratitude for our great community, we are many hands that will come together as one in our marathon!

We are looking for volunteers! We are seeking out parent helpers for our Marathon Day of Service on Oct 15th and we are asking for volunteers to promote & seek out Marathon donations after masses at our AFC churches & St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willmar. Thursday, Oct 9th : Hats Off To Kindness (wear a hat with your church clothes)
Friday, Oct 10th: We are Powered by Kindness (wear your favorite superhero attire)
Monday, Oct 13th: Kindness Ties Us Together (wear a tie, bowtie or tie-dye)
Tuesday, Oct 14th: Don’t Hide Your Kindness (wear camouflage or neon or both)
Wednesday, Oct 15th: Share the Spirit of Kindness (wear your St. Mary’s spirit wear or blue/yellow)
