Our 2023 Marathon kicked off on Friday, Sept 22. This is one of our BIGGEST fundraising events! Our students will be reaching out to their neighbors, local businesses, alumni and community for pledges.
Fr. Joe announced our school’s marathon goal is $55,000 this year! If we meet our goal, Fr. George will host a pizza party for the top three classes bringing in the most money per student AND will host a school-wide PJ, popcorn and movie party. In addition to that, Mrs. Sigurdson will also award the students & staff with an extra day off of school for Christmas Break (Dec 21).
Each student received a sheet to keep track of the pledges they have collected and they are encouraged to bring in pledge money daily. Those individuals who bring in $10 or more a day, will get their name in the daily drawing for a $10 Dairy Queen gift card! 🍦 For every $10 that a student brings in, they will get their name in the drawing. They can earn up to 10 entries per day. Each class will also have the opportunity to win each day as well. The class bringing in the top amount each day will be recognized and will then have a little fun with their teacher or another staff member taking the hit! Staff will have the opportunity to be doused with a bucket of water, be toilet papered, receive a pie in the face, or be made into a sundae!
On October 18th, students will do service work in the community instead of walking for the Marathon. This is something that we implemented in 2018 and we have received positive feedback from our community and families about integrating service and putting our “Gratitude into Action”.
As of 10/18/2023 we have raised $62,584.25!! We did it!!
As promised, Mrs. Sigurdson will award their fundraising efforts by giving students & staff an extra day off for Christmas Break (Dec 21st). Fr. George will also provide a school-wide PJ, popcorn and movie day (date TBD). He will also provide the top 3 classes which raised the most money per student with a pizza party. The top 3 classes were 3rd gr, PreKindergarten, and 4th gr. Thank you for all who supported this fundraiser!
