Marathon

Our 2024 Marathon kicked off on Friday, Sept 13th.  This is one of our BIGGEST fundraising events! Our students will be reaching out to their neighbors, local businesses, alumni and community for pledges.

Fr. Joe announced our school’s marathon goal is $55,000 this year! We met our goal! We raised $58,744.15!! Fr. George will host a pizza party for the top three classes bringing in the most money per student which are 3rd grade, 4th grade & Kindergarten. In addition to that, Mrs. Sigurdson will also award the students & staff with an extra day off of school for Christmas Break (Dec 20th).

Each student received a sheet to keep track of the pledges they have collected and they are encouraged to bring in pledge money daily. Those individuals who bring in $10 or more a day, will get their name in the daily drawing for a $10 Dairy Queen gift card! 🍦 For every $10 that a student brings in, they will get their name in the drawing. They can earn up to 10 entries per day. Each class will also have the opportunity to win each day as well. The class bringing in the top amount each day will be recognized and will then have a little fun with their teacher or another staff member taking the hit! Staff will have the opportunity to be doused with a bucket of water, be toilet papered, earn an EXTRA recess and DQ treat or even a water balloon fight!!

8th Grade skit. “How to properly ask for pledges”. Team BLUE vs. Team YELLOW with a Minion to cheer them on!

On October 16th, students will do service work in the community instead of walking for the Marathon. This is something that we implemented in 2018 and we have received positive feedback from our community and families about integrating service and putting our “Gratitude into Action”. This year we are reminded “We are Many: We are One.” As we come together in service to others, supporting our school with pledges, and with gratitude for our great community, we are many hands that will come together as one in our marathon!
