Second Grade at St. Mary’s is not just another year of school but is where students begin another journey in their steps of faith. Our first big step of faith is First Reconciliation and then in the Spring, we take an even bigger step as we prepare to receive the Body & Blood of Jesus Christ, in First Holy Communion. Along with our steps in faith, we continue learning and working on becoming better readers, learning new math and become close friends!

A little bit about me… I was born and raised in Northwest Iowa, an only child, and I grew up on a hog and grain farm. For the past eleven years I have been living in Bird Island! Last fall, my husband Matthew & I have been blessed with 2 beautiful daughters and our 3rd baby coming mid-September! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. A few of my hobbies include baking, cooking, gardening, canning, watching baseball, going to concerts, and traveling. I graduated from SMSU in Marshall (May 2012), with degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education and also minor in Special Education.

These past years at St. Mary’s have been a true blessing and I am looking forward to this year and the years to come!
