Mrs. Julie O'Halloran
Fifth grade is a big academic year for students. Along with their general classes, they also become scientists as they participate in the local science fair with an opportunity to advance to Regions in Mankato. Researching and writing skills are expanded as they make Famous Americans “come alive” and portray them in a school assembly, all part of their Living History Project. It’s a busy, but exciting year!
As for me…I grew up on a dairy farm south of Danube with two older brothers. I graduated from Southwest State University (as it was called then) in Marshall with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. I taught and coached volleyball in South Dakota before returning back to the area where my husband, Mike, and I settled down to raise our three children; Brent, Cody, and Devyn. I have enjoyed the variety of teaching experiences I have had ranging from grades 2 through 8. I am looking forward to the great year ahead!!
